Table Covers Frequently Asked Questions

Ordering Table Covers and Throws

For our purposes, table covers and throws are the same thing. If there is any difference it might be that covers are a fitted style while throws are a draped style. The draped style can be used on various sizes of tables while the fitted style is made for one specific table size.

Un-printed table covers can be ordered on line. The shopping cart soft wear will show pricing, quantity discounts and shipping option and costs, select by basic style, four sided, three sided or top and front.

For decorated table covers, non standard covers or special requests, start with the order/quote form. Fill in as much information as you can, up load your art file using the "Browse" feature, and include any special instructions in the dialog boxes. We will produce and email you a to scale layout for your comment and an order confirmation form which you will need to sign and fax back before we have a finalized order.

What are the decorating options?

The means of printing your design on a table cover depend on the design and the material used to make the cover. The more simple designs using one or two spot colors or simple halftones are screen printed on knit polyester and nylon. This method produces a clean, durable imprint adn is most economical for larger quantity of covers.

For more complex designs using three or more colors, or four color process designs, we use our DyeLux™ full color print direct to white fabric which dyes the design right into the fibers of the fabric. This only is used on knit polyester and nylon. DyeLux prints can be a front panel only sewn into one of our stock fabric colors, or a complete all over print.

The vinyl table covers are digitally printed. This provides a durable image with no limit on the number of colors that can be printed. For economy we can print a front panel and sew it into one of our stock colors, or we can print an all over image to match special colors or provide decorations that are viewable from any angle.

One other technique for decorating table covers is to appliqué the design. This is used for simple designs and involves sewing layers of fabric to create the design in all fabric. Embroidery is generally used with appliqué for small type or details in the design.

What are the available fabric and imprint colors?

We stock knit polyester table cover fabric in 14 colors, there are more colors available for special order of a quantity of at least ten covers.
Imperial nylon is available in 11 colors.
Reinforced vinyl is available in 16 basic colors.

We have 20 basic imprint colors for screen printing inks, these include metallic gold and silver. We can match most PMS colors very closely, so you are not limited to the stock imprint colors. When screen printing light colors on dark fabric we do get very good coverage. For instance, we get a good white on black fabric.

When using our DyeLux™ printing the number of printable colors is unlimited.

What are PMS colors?

The Pantone Matching System is a system printers and graphic artists use for communicating colors precisely. The individual colors are indexed in chromatic sequence and assigned numbers. By specifying PMS numbers we know exactly what colors you want used. However color matching is not an exact science for screen printing or digital prints, we can not guarantee exact matches, but knowing PMS numbers will insure a very close match.

How should I submit my art?

The best method for submitting art is to upload it with an order/quote form using the "browse" button on the form to attach your art. If you do not have the art file on your computer it can be attached to an email and send it to sales@table-cover.com

The best file type to submit depends on your organizations capabilities, and the nature of the design. For simpler graphics the best format is vector art. This is created in a program such as Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw or FreeHand. All design elements should be displayed in outline form, including type, with colors specified as PMS numbers. However if you do not have access to this type of file you should send what ever you have, there is no charge for our staff to review it and comment. If necessary we can make a vector art file for you at a nominal cost.

What are my table cover fabric choices?

We offer three basic materials for table covers. Knit polyester, nylon and vinyl.

Knit polyester is by far the most used fabric among it's benefits are:
VERY WRINKLE RESISTANCE

Perfect for traveling, (for even better protection from wrinkles, especially with decorated table covers see our easy rolling method.)
LIGHT WEIGHT BUT NOT FLIMSY
Knit polyester has enough heft to always drape nicely, the knit construction gives it thickness and at 12 ounces per lineal yard, this is the best fabric for working table covers.
NATURALLY FLAME RETARDENT
Complies with convention center codes, passes NPFA 701 Small Scale and California Section 13115. Down load certificate.

Nylon is used when a waterproof material is required, or if the product being demonstrated could be messy. Nylon table covers also present a more athletic look which may lend itself to certain product displays.

Among nylon's primary benefits are:
VERY DURABLE
WEATHER RESISTANT

Don't let weather worry you. Nylon table covers are water proof.

For extra heavy duty table covers, we use reinforced vinyl. This is a 10 ounce per yard material made of two thin layers of vinyl sandwiching a polyester scrim which gives it dimensional stability. This is not to be confused with the cheap, lightweight vinyl table coves sold for picnic tables.
The main benefits of reinforced table covers are:
THE MOST RUGGED
The most durable cover you can buy.
NEVER WORRY ABOUT WEATHER

Vinyl is naturally water resistant and provides complete outdoors protection.

Table cover sizes and styles.

Since we print, cut and sew in our facility it is possible for us to make a cover for just about any type of item. We have made fabric covers or shipping crates, tool boxes, etc. which are then used in the trade show display, and no one knows what is hidden beneath that nice looking cover.
However most commonly we make covers that work with the popular sized tables. A standard table is 30" high and 30" wide, the length is usually 6 or 8 feet, but 4 foot covers are available. These are the most popular sizes, but because there are so many possibilities we have included most variations as size choices in our on line order/quote form. If we still have not included your particular choices you can always type in a description in one of the dialog boxes near the bottom of the form and we will follow your instructions.

The time required to receive your table cover order

depends on if they are printed or not, how many you are ordering and where you are located.
For small quantities, less than a dozen, un-printed covers generally ship the next business day, printed covers take about 7 working days after art approval. Orders in the 12 to 36 range take a couple of more days. Beyond that we would have to let you know at the time of the order.

We can always use a higher level of service to guarantee that your cover arrives when needed. See this map for UPS delivery times, ground service from our area.
